GARDAÍ IN MEATH are appealing for witnesses following a robbery that took place this morning.
Just after 9am, a courier van driver was accosted at a fuel service station between Gormanstown and Julianstown.
He was forced to drive his van down a laneway on the R132, where he was then assaulted a number of times by at least two men.
A number of items were taken from the van.
One of the men is described as 6′ tall, in his 40s with sallow skin. He was wearing a beanie hat, had his face covered in a scarf and was wearing a dark coloured jacket.
The second man is similar in height and was wearing a long black wig.
Gardaí are particularly interested to receive information on a black saloon car, which was seen travelling southbound in front of the courier van.
A white Ford Transit van is also believed to have been used in the robbery, and was later found abandoned at Gravemeadows, Stamullen.
Anyone who witnessed the robbery or has any information is urged to contact Ashbourne Garda Station on 01 801 0600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
